A timber workshop can add useful extra space to your home for DIY, a hobby room, storing garden equipment and machinery, keeping cycles or motorbikes. Whatever your workshop is for, we work with you to design your perfect space before the team at de Bathe Farm build and install it for you.
As our workshops are over 3.5m x 3m, they’re classified as larger buildings, which means that whatever activity you’ve got planned, you’ll have plenty of space to do it. Your building can also be insulated to allow you to use it all year round.
Timber Workshops are larger timber garden buildings made to a size to suit your requirements. You can even have your workshop insulated if you wish and a choice of pent or apex roof.
Simon had recently moved and had a lovely big new garden, but with no outbuildings. As he’d downsized, what he really needed was a workshop to store everything which previously had a place in his old property. John was able to advise on the size of a suitable building to keep within permitted development rights.
The lads have just completed the erection of the workshop and I just wanted to drop you a line to say how pleased we are with the finished product. It was great to have the flexibility to have the windows, door and partition as we wanted, and we are very impressed with the quality of the building. We found it very useful to be able to visit your show-buildings and to discuss our requirements with someone knowledgeable, and the team who came to erect the building were very efficient and friendly. So in spite of Covid throwing a spanner in the works, we are delighted with the new workshop!

If your building comes with a timber floor built in, then all you’ll need is a level site for it to sit on. We can discuss this when we do a site visit. Don’t worry about getting your spirit level out though – our trained installers will deal with that when they arrive to install your building.
Unless you love getting rained on, a roof is pretty much a must, and the good news is that you’ll be well catered for – you can choose from natural finishes of cedar shingles and slate, through to long-lasting plastisol steel sheeting, all in a range of colours.
Left unpainted or stained and your exterior timber colour will naturally fade and soften over time. Some like that, some don’t. If you’d rather leave it natural, that’s totally fine, but if you’d prefer a colour that lasts and lasts, we can do that for you too.
However many windows you want, your wish is our command. Your windows can either be fixed, or opening, depending on your requirements. Many customers opt for removable security shutters to ensure security when they’re not there.
Built around a substantial wooden framework, your timber workshop building is made to last. The heavy-duty framing and walls are strong enough to support your shelves and tool racks and are lined with a damp proof membrane.
All the external timber we use is pressure treated northern European redwood, from sustainable and managed sources. Your building will be given extra protection against the weather with two coats of water proofer.
