It was my daughter Ellie’s 21st birthday celebration over the weekend, so we all headed into the Big Smoke for some festivities.
We had a wonderful time – it was great to be in London with Christmas approaching; nowhere quite does the festive season like London Town.
The principal activity on the agenda was Mamma Mia The Party – an immersive theatre experience where the show goes on around you while you eat, drink and be merry.
It was fabulous – I’d recommend it to all, even if you’re not the world’s biggest ABBA fan!
The following day the celebrations continued, with a family party during the day, and then a gathering for Ellie and her friends in the evening.
A weekend with a triple whammy of celebrations and why not? You’re only 21 once.
I heard someone once say that life is not a dress rehearsal, and it’s stayed with me ever since – making the most of these moments, whether it’s a birthday, whether it’s Christmas, whether it’s having the grandchildren over, is what it’s all about.
And if you’re able to make those moments that bit sweeter by making your home exactly what you want it to be, then why not do it?
As we head into the festive season, and thoughts start turning towards 2024, the question is this:
If 2024 isn’t the year you get your garden building, will you ever? Life is not a dress rehearsal.
