Hypnotised John

It was difficult to get John away from the TV over the weekend – when the Ashes is on, it’s like he’s been hypnotised.

(Well, on Sunday lunchtime, it was rather more outraged than mesmerised, but that’s another story.)

I can’t complain too much though – now that Wimbledon’s here, I’m much the same, although I’m swapping the small screen for the centre court next week, and I’m extremely excited about it.

All this sport has got me thinking about how nice it is to have something you’re really into, something that invigorates you, excites you and keeps you interested, whether it’s snow, rain or shine.
