The value of having a garden building

More British than I imagined

Last weekend was even more British than I’d imagined it could be. On Saturday, we had all the pomp and the pageantry of the coronation, the union jacks, the costumes, the rituals, the tradition.

And all the while of course, the rain fell outside, thankfully failing to dampen the enthusiasm of the well-wishers lining the route from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.

What could be more British?!

We continued the coronation celebrations into the afternoon, heading over to the garden of a friend of ours and enjoying a bbq, in weather than was thankfully rather more clement. Her garden was beautiful, plants bursting forth, no doubt helped by the downpours we’ve endured over the last few weeks.

My hope is that the weather now markedly improves as we head towards the summer, but the juxtaposition of Saturday and Sunday reminded me once again of the value of having a garden building that can be used whatever the weather.
