I signed up for Netflix at the weekend, for one reason and for one reason only: The Crown.

 I’m not a big TV watcher, and to be honest, I haven’t even seen the first three seasons, but now it’s getting into my era, and my interest has been piqued.

So I took the plunge, and I’m so glad I did. The drama is captivating, the acting is superb and the cherry on top? The exquisite attention to detail.

Whether it’s Sandringham, Balmoral Castle or 10 Downing Street, the interiors are painstakingly created, adding a real sense of authenticity to every scene.

While those finishing touches never take centre stage, they’re integral to the whole show; without them, it wouldn’t feel as real or accurate.

We’re never going to build you Buckingham Palace, but we’ve got a similarly high view of the importance of attention to detail.
