The temperature might have dropped again, but this is a very different cold snap to the last one. Back in December, it felt like we really were in the depths of winter, with months of cold stretched out ahead of us.
But as we fly through February, the cold weather is accompanied by something else:
The wonderful warming sun.
I was outside yesterday, and when the sun was at its highest, it was actually, genuinely quite warm.
Whisper it, but spring is on its way.
In preparation for the season of new life, we’ve been busy in our garden, tidying things up and getting it ready for the clement months.
And one key action? Opening up the summerhouse.
When we have cold, damp weather followed by sunny days (exactly as we’re experiencing right now) it’s vital to let the damp air escape from the buildings – there’s a danger that mould will form if you don’t.
If you’ve already got a timber garden building, then now’s the time to make sure you’re ventilating.
If you haven’t got a building yet, but it’s on the list for this year, then let’s get the ball rolling – the days are getting longer, the sun is high in the sky, and summer will be here before you know it! Give us a call on 01837 82442 now.
