Don’t judge us, but we went to see the new Downton Abbey movie at the weekend. If it’s your sort of thing, I can strongly recommend it.

It had been a little while since we’d been to the cinema – the pandemic kind of put paid to movie date nights, so it was lovely to get back in front of the big screen. Things have changed while we’ve been away though, and in a thoroughly good way.

Our little local cinema at Okehampton has had a significant upgrade – big, comfy seats, lots of space, and your own table, and it really does make a big difference.

Having your own space makes you less conscious of how loud your popcorn eating is.

A comfy seat allows you to focus entirely on the movie.

There’s not a bad seat in the house, which means no craning your neck to see the screen.
