Statement of the obvious: 2020 wasn’t a year to write home about. But although the Stay At Home order was devastating in a number of ways, there were a few upsides.
One of those positives has been reported this week – a large rise in the number of people rediscovering their love in reading in lockdown. Book sales grew by 7% last year, in large part driven by the enforced isolation in our homes.
We may not have wanted more leisure time, but we certainly made the most of it; not just with reading, but with other hobbies, like baking, painting and other arts and crafts.
And although things are getting back to some sort of normality, I think many of us have a desire not to let go of those things entirely.
We’ve recognised the importance of spending time on ourselves, and how helpful hobbies can be for mental wellbeing, and we don’t want to go back completely to ‘the way things were’. I believe it’s for that reason we’re still seeing strong enquiries for our studios, as people seek out purpose-built spaces for reading, writing, painting and other hobbies.
And if you want to ensure that you’ve got a dedicated space to continue with the things that you love, get in touch today and we’ll get talking about your very own timber garden studio.
