When Mr and Mrs D visited our display site, they already had a clear vision: a space that could balance both practicality and creativity: a combined workshop and art studio.
After chatting through ideas with our team, the plans began to take shape, and we began turning the vision into reality.
Together, we refined the design, incorporating a few bespoke touches, including a neatmatch effect internal lining to the art studio roof at Mrs Ds’ request. It was a first for us here at Shields Buildings, and a great example of how truly tailored each project can be.

The build involved demolishing an existing shed and garage and replacing these with a studio and workshop. Shields took great care of the whole process. We recently had the honour of working with the wonderful Cath Kidston to create her a beautiful, attractive log store, and the end result is rather stunning.
Given the size, scale, and location of Cath’s log store, she needed to apply for planning permission. We took care of all that, taking the necessary photographs, submitting the plans, and getting it over the line, as well as providing base plans, so that her builder could install the foundations.

With a beautiful landscaped garden, Helen wanted a timber garden building to use as an extra room and enhance their enjoyment of the garden. They had an attractive stained-glass window they wanted to incorporate, and we included this in the design of the back window for them.

Moving to their new farm was a dream come true, but it did not have all the buildings they needed; stables, hay store, tack room, workshop and a tractor shed were all required. Mr and Mrs Davies were looking for a company who understood their requirements and who could supply the variety of buildings they needed. Whilst this may look like a typical Summer House, we were in fact asked to design the timber building to provide somewhere suitable for the customer to work from home as well as enjoy the garden setting. Therefore, the building benefits from insulation and has full height double glazed windows, making it an ideal home office; warm, dry, comfortable and light.
