Finer Details Of Our Car Parking Shelters – Garages and Carports

Garages and Carports

Would you like to know about the finer details? All our buildings are bolted, sectional buildings and the timber used is high quality pressure treated timber. Sizes
  • Single garages are generally 3m to 4m wide with double doors of 2.4m wide
  • Double garages are at least 5.8m wide with 2 pairs of doors
  • Triple garages are at least 9m wide
  • The maximum depth is 6m. Family cars generally require at least 5m. Older vintage cars will generally be under 4m long
  • Standard headroom at the entrance is 2m, maximum headroom 2.25m on taller buildings
Walls
  • The standard eaves height is 2.18m, with max being 2.4m
  • Constructed of redwood shiplap timber over a Tyvek breathable membrane
  • Wall panels are bolted to the base on a damp proof membrane
Doors
  • Ledge and brace, tongue and groove redwood timber double doors at 2.4m x 2m
  • Heavy duty security bolts and door hooks
  • Personnel side door option
Windows
  • Redwood timber windows, fixed or top hung
  • Plywood security shutters and toughened glass available
Roof
  • Made from ‘A’ frame trusses and stress graded purlins
  • Plastisol steel roofing in a choice of colours
  • Synthetic slate also available
  • Roofing membrane is included
  • 1m x 1m glass reinforced polyester (GRP) roof light option
  • Aluminium vents are fitted in each gable end to aid ventilation
Rainwater Goods
  • Black uPVC half-round gutter, down pipes and fittings included
  • Galvanised steel Lindab guttering available
  • Water butts available
External finish
  • All timber used is pressure treated against rot. In addition, we apply two coats of water proofer to keep the weather out. Alternatively choose a painted finish
Concrete Base
  • A solid concrete base, with minimum thickness 130mm is required
  • One course of bricks under the wall panels is recommended
