A few weeks ago, I mentioned a type of building that’s proving hugely popular right now. In essence it’s a hybrid – part office/studio workspace, part workshop/store shed.
After what seems like a very long time, next Monday is a landmark day – the most significant easing of lockdown so far. And thanks to a month of freezing cold socialising outside, I can hardly wait to get indoors again!
Statement of the obvious: 2020 wasn’t a year to write home about. But although the Stay At Home order was devastating in a number of ways, there were a few upsides.
It’s a bit of an understatement to say we’ve been busy over the last few months. The reality is that ever since Lockdown 1 ended we’ve experienced – wait for it – unprecedented demand for our buildings.
It was rather inevitable wasn’t it? Rather than those two beautiful 20 degree days heralding in the next stage of lockdown easing and the Grand Reopening of the Beer Garden, the temperatures have plunged rather considerably now.
I don’t know about you, but that little slice of freedom tasted good, before the weather turned again and BBQs in the sunshine were replaced with snow showers!
Finally, after weeks and weeks confined to our homes, lockdown is beginning to ease. And with beautiful weather across much of the country, I’m sure that plenty of us are taking the opportunity to meet with family and friends over the next few days.
While it’s cooled down a little bit over the last couple of days, and there are a few more showers on the agenda, I think it’s fair to say that the weather’s turned the corner in the last week. After the bleak midwinter, the daffodils are out, and it really does feel like there are reasons for optimism everywhere.
