I’ve always seen March as the month when things change, Mothering Sunday waving farewell to the last remnants of winter, before we’re greeted by the first day of spring.
We had a delightful few days off last week, celebrating my mum’s birthday down in Sussex. As tends to happen when my mother and I get together, quite a few gardens were visited, and it was just delightful to see the natural world on the cusp of spring.
You might have seen that Banksy’s popped up again – a brand new piece appeared last week in Margate. Despite the joy of a new Banksy being discovered, that joy is tempered with the subject matter, which is pretty heavy.
The temperature might have dropped again, but this is a very different cold snap to the last one. Back in December, it felt like we really were in the depths of winter, with months of cold stretched out ahead of us.
