For many, the last 18 months has been a reminder of what’s important. And in most cases, it’s not stuff, or things, but people.
Enforced isolation has made a lot of us realise just how important relationships are to us, and now that we seem to be on the way out on the other side of this catastrophe (touch wood!), we’re looking to make up for lost time.
At Shields Buildings, we’re seeing that reflected in lots of the orders we’re getting at the moment, with people specifying buildings that allow them to spend quality time with the people they love. One great example is a summerhouse we made for a lady in Exeter.
Mr and Mrs K have a delightful garden, with an orchard section, and they also have some very lovely grandchildren; all of which they want to enjoy at the same time. As a result, our team have been hard at work building a summerhouse where they can spend time together in a beautiful setting.
It’s not an office or a workshop, so didn’t need a high level of insulation, but thanks to the pine tongue and groove lining and uPVC windows, it’ll be usable most of the year.
When the summer rain arrives (or maybe just a continuation of what we’ve had for the last three months?!), they’ll be safe, warm and dry inside, and we’ve also added a decked seating area so they can sit out and enjoy the views when the weather allows.
If you want to spend more time with the people you love in 2021 and beyond, and a building will help you make it happen, then let’s talk!
