It certainly seems a distant memory now, but the weekend really was glorious; a welcome reminder of what – touch wood – we have to look forward to this summer.
Not that we sat around enjoying the sunshine; we had plenty to do, with a quick visit to a local Open Garden before preparing the house (and garden) for a visit from John’s children and their families.
It was the first time we’d seen them all since Christmas, so it was particularly nice to see the youngest member of the family, baby Jack.
What I’d forgotten was how quickly babies change at this tender age – last time we saw him he spent most of his time asleep; now he’s giggling, into everything and even threatening to move around; it won’t be long before he starts crawling.
It was a stark reminder that time stands still for no one, and of the importance of cherishing those special family moments.
And if you’re still harbouring ambitions of a garden space where you can enjoy family time, or retreat to when the climes are rather less sunny, then let’s talk this week and take steps to get started on your perfect timber garden building.
