It’s funny how certain adverts stick in your mind, isn’t it? From Coca Cola’s ‘Holidays Are Coming’ piece that heralds the start of the festive season through to the inimitable Budweiser ‘Wassup’ ad, over the years there are several ads that have been completely ingrained into my brain.
The pandemic has meant that it’s very quickly gone from the thing that a few people did, to something that nearly 50% of us are doing. And despite having to make do with kitchen tables and back bedrooms, a sizeable chunk of these impromptu workers appear to be enjoying it.
We’re back up and running here, but well aware that the virus is still a risk, but we are taking the next step in the Covid-19 world.
I never thought June would see me pining for the days of April, but looking at the weather forecast and seeing six straight days of rain has changed all that. In a magnificent demonstration of Murphy’s Law, just as soon as Boris started lifting restrictions, the temperature started to drop and the heavens began opening – bad news for those of us wanting to meet friends outdoors, and bad news for those looking to keep their cars sheltered from the elements.
A couple of months ago, we were due to visit a customer’s property to install a home office. He’d decided he wanted to work from home a bit more, and needed somewhere to do it.

Summer 2020 – they’re calling it the ‘summer of the staycation’. With borders closed, flights grounded and travel restricted, we’re all going to be spending more time at home than we usually would.
If you tuned into Boris’s speech on Sunday night, watched the news conferences, or you’ve done anything online, you’ll know that the emphasis of the Government’s message has changed. As we move into this next phase, they seem to be slowly encouraging society to get back to something approaching normality, whilst remaining alert and vigilant to prevent the spread of the virus.
Got any plans for the bank holiday? We’ve got a big weekend coming up – it’s a family wedding, so we’re heading to France, for what should be a fantastic occasion; love, laughter and lots of wine. Not really.
So you’re looking for a garden building. Good for you. Whether you’re after a purpose-built work-from-home solution, somewhere for the kids to play Xbox, or a place where you can just get away from it all and devote some time to your hobby, a garden building is a great way to achieve it, at a fraction of the cost of an extension.
