We were at a wedding on Saturday. It was a lovely, joyful occasion – the kind that we’ve had far too few of during the last couple of years.
The weather was great, the food and drink were fantastic, and the couple were perfect – all the right ingredients!
And even the speeches – which I always hold my breath during, hoping no one says anything that goes down badly – reached the same high standard of the rest of the event.
The father of the bride was probably the one who got closest to “The Line”, when he began by joking that he hoped this wedding was ‘third time lucky’, which momentarily made everyone slightly worried that he was shining a light on the past of the bride or groom.
He quickly explained though – this was the third attempt to actually have the wedding, with the pandemic putting paid to the previous two events.
It’s never nice when you try and achieve something, only to have to try again AND again, and yet that’s too often the case with timber garden buildings. People buy something flatpack off the internet – usually a shed or a summerhouse – and it looks alright for a year or two, before the weather gets to it and it begins deteriorating quickly.
And at Shields Buildings, we believe one garden building is enough – everything we build is built to last, and we’ve scores of customers who’ve had their buildings for 15, 20, and 30 years. If you’d like your timber garden building to last in the same way, please get in touch.
