Job description

This position involves working as part of a team to construct and erect timber buildings throughout the South West. Tasks include fabrication in the workshop, base preparation and erection of timber buildings.

Some overtime in weekdays. The successful applicant will be an all-rounder who is happy and able to turn their hand to all jobs.

Key tasks

Fabrication of buildings in workshop, including sawing, planning, nailing, making and hanging doors and windows

Load vehicles and maintain supplies on vehicles

Drive vans and trailers, as permitted by insurance and licence restrictions

Lift heavy panels

Set out sites

Construct bases

Erect sectional buildings, including roofing

Maintenance and repairs at the company’s premises

Skills required

Carpentry

General building work

Full driving licence

Ability to work hard in all weathers

Read and interpret technical drawings

Work in tidy and efficient manner

Follow health and safety rules

Reporting to: Workshop and site foremen and General Manager
