Preparing wood

Handmade in Devon

A question I’ve been asked quite a bit recently is:

“Where are your buildings made?”

It’s an important question, for two reasons:

  1. Lots of garden buildings are manufactured cheaply in factories, and then delivered. Usually they’re pretty inflexible in terms of sizing and extras, because they’re mass produced, rather than made bespoke. Plus, because they’re being churned out quickly, they often aren’t the best quality.
  1. Many ‘handmade’ buildings are constructed on-site, on the customer’s property. A building takes a long time to build from scratch, so customers who opt for these sorts of buildings will have to make do with disruption for quite a while as their building is being constructed.

You might be thinking that those are the only two options, but the good news is that there is a third choice, and it’s the one we offer.

Our buildings are handmade from scratch, right here in Devon.

The timber gets delivered, and our team painstakingly construct every section in our workshop. Only then will we make our way to the customer’s property to erect it, and because we’ve done all the preparation back at the farm, the process usually takes less than a week.

Which means you get the best of both – handmade, with significant attention to detail and guaranteed quality, without the disruption of having builders in your garden for weeks on end.

So there you go – our buildings are handmade in Devon, constructed in North Tawton and finished off in your garden!
