Combination building

Long story

The Shields Buildings story is a long one. After all, we’ve been around for 30 years this month, so we’ve had our fair share of twists and turns.

We started out creating sheds that would stand the test of time, rather than collapse with the first gust of autumn wind. They were popular.  As we started to make more and more of them, we started getting requests for other types of buildings.

Bigger, more complicated buildings.

As the years went on, we found ourselves doing less sheds, and more garages, studios, and workshops.

And along the way we were always driven by one thing: to deliver what the customer wants, whether we have to design it from scratch or not.

Over the last couple of years, there’s been one type of bespoke building we’ve been asked for regularly.

It doesn’t fit neatly into any of our categories – it’s not a shed, or a garage, or a workshop.

Instead, it’s a combination of a couple of types of building – part spacious storage shed, part workshop-cum-studio-cum-office. And because we’ve been getting so many requests for it, we figured it was time to build one of our own, so that anyone looking for inspiration can see what’s possible.

So here it is:

Combination building

As you can see, it’s beautifully constructed, with a frontage of glass, allowing for maximum light.

Once through the double doors, there’s a 3.5 x 3m, heated timber garden office with full electricity, where you can relax, get stuff done or a bit of both.

Next door is the 2 x 3m shed with high security lock, perfect for storing all your garden implements.

Two distinct uses, one building, and a complete maximisation of the space you’ve got available to you, and at 2.5m high you won’t need planning permission in most cases. If this is the timber building you’ve been looking for, hit reply and let’s talk about making it a reality in your garden.
