For 30 years we have been making superior timber buildings and our reputation for service and quality proceeds us. For your peace of mind all our products are supplied with our guarantee. Read more here.
Quality
- Our products are made to order in our workshops in mid Devon, all to the same high standard
- Attention to detail is central to the quality of our products. For example, the depth of rebate used on the overlap of the shiplap boards is deeper than standard to prevent any gaps appearing as the boards dry out with time
- All exposed softwood is pressure-treated to ensure that the preservatives penetrate deep into the timber to give it a longer life
- Corner battens and joint seams are sealed with silicone sealer to keep moisture out
- Damp proof wall membranes are used in most situations
- Ironmongery is treated against rust, hot dip galvanising being used in most cases.
Please remember: Wood is a living material and is subject to change with age and fluctuations in moisture. Doors will swell and contract with the weather. This is normal, and our products are designed with this in mind. However, occasionally if the movement is excessive the door may need attention and we are happy to help. Please contact us if you need assistance.
Environmental Responsibility
- The timber used for our wall cladding and tongue and groove doors is joinery grade European redwood (Pinus Sylvestris), generally from Scandinvia.
- The framing is either European redwood or European whitewood (Picea Abies).
- All timber used is from renewable sources, being certified by either the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC).
- Eco-friendly options, such as low energy lighting, are installed as standard in our garden studios and offices.
