This particular project is the culmination of over two years of planning, preparation and hard work, with all sorts of delays due to property chains and a few unexpected twists along the way. But we got there in the end, and the proof is in the pudding!
Early on in the process, we were able to offer some guidance around permitted development rules, which turned out to be a crucial step, avoiding the Joneses buying a property where they wouldn’t have been able to build the garage they really wanted.
As plans evolved, Mr and Mrs Jones visited our display site several times to fine-tune the design, making sure it was perfect for their new home.
Overcoming Obstacles
One of the trickier aspects of the build was the overall size: it was too large to be exempt from building regulations. Our team suggested a workaround: splitting the structure into two joined sections, each with its own set of double doors. Doing this kept things within the limits while maintaining a smooth flow between the spaces.
Planning permission was still required due to the layout and location, but we managed the entire process on their behalf, keeping things simple and stress-free.
While we don’t supply garage doors direct, our workshop team built the openings to the exact dimensions needed so their chosen specialist could install them seamlessly after the build.
What Was Achieved
After lots of planning, patience and collaboration, Mr and Mrs Jones now have the timber buildings they’d dreamed of, with practicality and beauty intertwined.
