Having previously purchased a building from us, our customer returned to Shields Buildings when moving to a new home on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park. Looking to replace and improve upon his previous garage, he chose a bespoke 6m x 5.3m design with increased 2.4m wall heights to accommodate a future campervan project, while also providing secure storage for his cherished vintage vehicles.
Overcoming Obstacles
The customer’s requirements called for a garage that was both practical for today and adaptable for the future. By increasing the wall height, we were able to create additional clearance for larger vehicles while retaining the proportions and appearance of a traditional timber garage. Throughout the project, we worked closely with the customer to ensure the building met his current needs and future aspirations.
What Was Achieved
The completed garage provides a secure and attractive home for the customer’s treasured Volvo Amazon and MG Midget, the latter having been owned and lovingly maintained for over 50 years. Set within a beautiful rural setting and perfectly positioned on the customer’s self-built driveway, the building blends seamlessly into its surroundings and stands as a fitting successor to his previous Shields Buildings garage.
